Hi Friends,
Today was a good day and an interesting one at that.
Today Your Not So Skinny Wedding Concierge went live and in-person to my colleagues about my little (OK, grand) project called "Tracey is Getting Her Groove Back and Blogging it to the World".
I had shared this with my friends Pauline and King the evening before but today you could say I had my first act; to tell a whole LOT of people all in the course of a few hours.
My nerves were definitely on point when I woke up to a drizzly California day (in July?) and made my way back to the treadmill to hopefully walk some off them off for a while until the event started.
I am very gregarious and was all ready to meet colleagues and friends, old and new. That's the easy part. But about the BIG SHARE?! Yes, I was terrified, despite or maybe in light of the fact , that my friend and "Coach Natasha" was right there near by for support and sharing my story for me as well. She was even telling people without me standing there!
Funny thing though about fear ("False Evidence Appearing Real"), is that, I knew I had to do it for my own good. So, I turned my fearfullness into fearlessness.
And you know what happened? Everything! Everything great. Smiles, encouragement, support and people really opened up and conversation blossomed.
I write this now that I am back in Las Vegas and reflecting on a great trip all around. It is truly amazing how we humans long for closeness and something authentic and relevant to belong to but yet we hide behind our facades, carefully constructed demeanor and our "programs" until given the chance to share in an other's personal and very "real" experience.
Makes me, and I hope you as well, wonder about all the time and life we waste and all the brilliant, spectacular relationships to create that we are missing out on by being fearful. Fearful of ourselves, of others, of consequences.
I am quite sure this will be a reoccurring theme in different contexts in future posts.
Today I was (and I still AM) Fearless, I AM Happy and I AM Grateful. What are YOU Today?

Congrats Tracey!! I had no idea you were doing this until I saw it on twitter today. So cool! Very happy for you and looking forward to reading up on all you're doing and motivating myself in the process! Thanks for sharing lady, brave brave xo
Harmony,

Tracey, I knew when you shared your goals with people in the industry that they would reach out and support you. I know that you are inspiring people--you are inspiring me! I have not skipped even one day at the gym since YOU began your journey!
And, speaking of the gym, today I was chatting with personal trainer Sandy Scamman, while we were both on the eliptical machines. Sandy shared with me her amazing journey of taking herself on and leaving her career as an insurance adjuster to pursue her passion--working out. She trained for figure contests and last year, at 42, she beat all the 20 year-olds in Nevada! She has since started her own training business. She told me that the gym looks for people like you to teach classes--people who are enthusiastic and can motivate participants. Most of all, people who are inspiring. She has offered to introduce to the person who does the hiring, when you are ready to teach Zumba! How cool is that?
Natasha,
That is so coo! I would love to teach Zumba one day in the future.
I know it would be great fun and better see YOU in the front line:)!!
{hugs}
