Hello Friends,
Today, at a professional networking event, I met a fabulous lady by the name of Janine Driver, who is a body language expert (also known as "The Lyin' Tamer), international speaker, author and media personality.
She gave a very enlightening, engaging presentation on how "Your Body Says More than you Think" that I truly enjoyed.
Anyway, after the presentation, I had a chance to introduce myself and have a fun chat with her. Turns out, her agent is also named "Traci" with an "I".
So I said I was Tracey with an "E.Y" and Janine challenged me to come up with a memorable way for people to remember me by my name and to write her and let her know what I dreamed up. Most people already know me as "The Wedding Concierge" but this was a fun exercise to try.
So "E" & "Y" had some interesting combos to be sure. "E" was fairly easy in the adjective, verb and noun department but "Y" was quite tricky indeed; Yappy, Yearning, Yellow-Bellied, youthful, yummy, yeasty, Yiddish? OY! Nouns weren't much better with Yenta, Yogurt, Yodeler.
Actually, "yenta" and "Yiddish" are closer than the others in my case! Anyway, after playing around for a while and having a good laugh, I found a perfect combination; not adjectives, but an action statement..
Tracey with an E.Y-"Embracing the YAHOO!!" This is Not to be confused with the search engine or one of those weird creatures from Gulliver's travels. My version I am referring to is the expression of exclamation people make while they are plunging into something exciting, fun and a little bit dangerous or risky.
I believe that is what part of this journey I am on is leading me to. To be more open, more willing, less judgmental of the details involved and just enjoy the YAHOO feeling of getting out there , putting myself on the line and seeing what happens.
I have been working on this now through the blog and other personal projects and it's coming through so...
Today, I AM "Embracing the Yahoo" and you will remember me:) What are YOU doing Today?
