So today I begin a new way of a new way of living with a new attitude.
As many of you know, I also write the "Diary of a Las Vegas Wedding Concierge" and I have, over the last year changed my branding message for Your Las Vegas Wedding Concierge" to "Creating Stylish Celebrations of Love & Life" and ending my blog posts with "Celebrate Today and Every Day with Love, Life & Style".
This is all well and good, but the problem that I realized (fortunately none too soon) that over this same year as I was changing my message, I wasn't feeling or looking or truly LIVING the message I was selling!
I guess you can say I have been "out of alignment" and it's been quite uncomfortable to tell you the truth.
So, today, I decided to quit being uncomfortable and to BEGIN being accountable to reach my goals of truly Celebrating MY LIFE with Love, Life & Style!
Since I LOVE to write, I figure the best way to stay accountable, is to start a new "diary" {blog} that I have entitled "Diary of a Not-So-Skinny Wedding Concierge".
It will be my way of sharing my journey on the scale (hopefully more down than up) because, let's face it, the darn thing started crying (as did I) last time I stepped on it.
I have been battling with my weight and my body image since 6th grade so be prepared for some emotional dumps (as my friend likes to call them) on here.
I'm doing this for myself so that I can journal my way back to feeling like the Tracey I know and LOVE and hopefully gain support from my friends and colleagues along the way. G-d knows I need all the LOVE and SUPPORT I can get.
This is a pretty risky adventure for me; putting all this "real life", real personal" out in the blogo-sphere for all to see. I'm not sure which is scarier; revealing this to people that I know or to the world that I don't. I know this whole adventure won't be easy but I know that asking for help is the first step to receiving it.
I also hope that by sharing my thoughts (whether they are inspirational, emotional or downright irrational on any given day), I can hopefully inspire someone out there who knows what it is like to feel what I feel, look the way I do (and doesn't want to anymore) and wants to get well, get healthy, get happy and get back to being YOU.
Today I AM Courageous! What are YOU today?
I hope you will join me? Are YOU Ready? BEGIN!!

Tracey,
I am not anonymous. I am your good friend, Andy.
I have my own health challenges. Diabetes being the main one, which, of course has a direct relationship to exercise and eating habits.
It gives me incredible encouragement to read your very public commitment. I shall not only root for you, but plan to come along for the ride.
With every best wish,
Andy
Today, I am proud. Proud that Tracey is getting real and making this commitment to herself. I cannot think of one woman in the wedding industry (and probably some men, too) who does not struggle to lead a healthy lifestyle and to be fit. Come on--we engage in tastings, we compare buttercream to fondant, we test out new caterers and venues. We attend at least one networking event a week, where we eat and drink. Then we wine and dine our clients. And to top it all off, our weekends are filled with outrageously delectably fanciful events with mountainous buffets and limitless passed H'ds.
Thank you, Tracey for doing this for yourself and being an inspiration to those of us in the industry and to the brides we serve.
Dear Anonymous,
Thank you so much for reading and for your support and know that when you start your blog, I will be there supporting you too.
Hope I learn who is behind the "T" one day:)
Jaime,
It is really great to see one of my bride's on here and I am so appreciative. Thank you from Las Vegas to Finland!!
Andy,
Thank you for your friendship and your support as long as I have known you. I will always have a special seat for my good friends who have seen the best (and less than the best) and love me for my strengths and despite my weaknesses.
Hop in, the ride should be a fun and interesting one indeed!
Natasha,
This blog would not be created if not for your sharing this idea with me and pushing me to have the courage to make it happen.
Thank you my friend. I am so blessed you came into my life and to Andy for having the very great insight to bring the two of us together.
T.
Yay for you! I know where you are coming from...I'll be rooting for you (and following right along in your footsteps!).
I'm gunning for a more "svelte" DIVA when I hit Vegas for Catersource 2011 - trust and believe!!
Linnyette,
Thank you friend for the comment and your support.
Yes, the Wedding Concierge and the Wedding DIVA will be looking fine in Feb'11.
